Prerna Suri is a seasoned communicator with a diverse and distinguished career spanning journalism, corporate communications, public affairs, and public policy. Currently, she serves as Vice President, Communications, Asia & Middle East for Sony Music Entertainment (SME), the world's second-largest music label. Her deep understanding of the Asian and Middle Eastern markets is invaluable as she leads strategic communications, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives, and internal communications for SME, ensuring the company's voice resonates powerfully across the region.
Prior to SME, Prerna honed her strategic acumen at tech companies like Meta and Cisco. Her international experience extends to the United Nations where she served as the Asia Pacific Spokesperson for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), navigating the complexities of global humanitarian communication. Earlier, she carved a path as an award-winning foreign correspondent with Al Jazeera English, garnering global recognition for her incisive reporting and insightful program presentations.
Prerna was recently recognized as one of the Top 20 Global Indians in Communications by Reputation Today. Her expertise is further validated by her service on several judging juries for PR awards and broadcast journalism, demonstrating a keen eye for impactful communication strategies across different media platforms.
Prerna's academic foundation lies in her passion for life-long learning. She holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. Additionally, she is an alumna of Harvard Business School's CORE program.
Beyond her professional life, Prerna actively contributes to global discourse. She is a fellow at the Asian Forum on Global Governance and a TEDX speaker. In her personal life, Prerna embraces an active lifestyle and is an avid cyclist, yoga practitioner and meditates.
